A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineering Graduate to follow a specialist path within the organization and train directly under the Operations Director for I&J. This position will start in engineering and move throughout the rest of the business, including the sea vessels.

The I&J Business will expose you to the following:

  • Experience in a highly specialised field
  • International fishing and manufacturing processes
  • Supply chain optimisation projects
  • Vessel refurbishments and additional projects
  • Performance and process optimisation
  • Dry dock projects focused on improving turnaround time
  • Continuous process improvements
  • New packaging and refrigeration processes
  • A complex vertically integrated value chain – from Capital Intensive Vessels and Production through to Domestic and International customers, marketing and selling via the I&J Brand
  • Best practice International fishing and manufacturing competencies
  • Vertically integrated, Domestic and International Supply Chain
  • Complex (Nature, cost and extent) Capital Project involvement 
  • Process performance improvement and optimisation projects
  • Commercial exposure to product innovation for Domestic and International Customers

Practical Experience will include:

A two year program exposing you to various technical and commercial environments within the fishing industry; where you will gain experience in fishing trawlers and processing operations. You will get involved in several optimization projects as well as other strategic initiatives across the business.

Requirements

  • Final year of Mechanical Engineering with good interim results
  • Proven leadership abilities (i.e. part-time work experience, leading projects, leading clubs, etc.)

Mechanical Engineer (Management Path)

A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineering Graduate to follow a Management Path within the organization and train directly under the Manufacturing Director for Entyce.This position will travel between the Entyce factories in Isando JHB and Durban Natal..

The Entyce Business will expose you to the following:

  • Plant upgrades
  • Mechanisation and automation
  • New product lines
  • New blending station
  • New powder tower (2nd largest in the country)
  • Delivery of Innovation and efficiency 

Practical Experience will include:

A two year program exposing you to various technical environments where you will learn how to manage a factory while shadowing several Production Managers nationally. You will also be expected to run the factories in their absence and manage technical staff as part of your development.

Requirements

  • Final year of Mechanical Engineering with good interim results 
  • Proven leadership abilities (i.e. part-time work experience, leading projects, leading clubs, etc.)

Mechanical Engineer (Technical Path)

  • New powder tower (2nd largest in the country)
  • Delivery of Innovation and efficiency

Practical Experience will include:

A two year program exposing you to various technical environments where you will learn how to manage the technical aspects of a factory while shadowing the Engineering Executive nationally. You will get involved in maintenance of equipment; looking after preventing breakdowns and managing several strategic projects and new technical designs.

Competencies & Skills Required

  • Desire to become a specialist in a technical environment
  • Strong technical ability
  • Strong Excel, CAD and MS Projects experience
  • Highly hands-on and willing to get your “hands dirty”
  • Resilient, flexible and open to change
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems

Requirements

  • Final year of Mechanical Engineering with good interim results
  • Proven leadership abilities (i.e. part-time work experience, leading projects, leading clubs, etc.)
